I don't think rectangular bulbs had anything to do with it. It was cheaper to use the round ones than the lighting setup from the 16/1700 premiums. Just took what was in the 1529/1532 and moved it up a bit.
Helps designate between the economy and premium versions.

There's a review of the 1734e up on tractor.com. Doesn't seem as though the price went up terribly compared to the 1532.

Either way ... it's probably good that MF is coming out with a more affordable tractor. I don't see many (new) MF tractors around here, even though my dealer is pretty close. He also sells Kioti & probably sells Orange 5 to 1 over the Red... says most people won't pay that much extra for the MF, especially when Kioti is such a good value (I actually bought my first tractor, a small Kioti, from him a couple years ago).

There are a lot of less expensive options out there ... if MF wants to keep any amount of CUT marketshare they need to stay competitive, especially with pricing.

Ugly.

Not sure what the price difference is between the E and Premium models is, but for an extra couple grand or so, I'd happily pay for the more handsome, capable model.

There are a lot of people where the price makes all the difference. And if the tractor has HST at a good price point, they will sell well

Your looking about $5,000 Difference between a 1734E (34.0 HP) Hydro and 1736 (36.2 HP) Premium Hydro. $5,500 between the 1739E (38.5HP) Hydro and the 1742 (41.6 HP) Premium Hydro. About $3500 difference between 1739E (38.5HP) Hydro and 1736 (36.2 HP) Premium Hydro. Since Horsepowers are not equal hard to compare exactly. Hope that helps.

Thanks. What is the price difference on the Powershuttle/Dyna differences.

1700 Economy Series only comes in 9x3 Gear Transmission or 3 Range Hydrostat. Gear is approximately $1,000 less than Hydro.

1700 Premium Series Powershuttle to Hydro is approximately $500 less for Powershuttle.

Does anybody actually prefer those hydro rocker pedals over side by side pedals?

Absolutely NOT. That was the first thing I noticed. I demoed one like that before. If I had to use them then I would not have a hydro tractor

I think Massey is doing the smart thing with the Econo models
