Default MF 1035

I am looking at a MF 1035 with 895 hrs on it. Tractor is in good shape. The tractor has turf tires on it. I told him i would think about it if it had ag tires. He said that's what everybody says. He is looking into getting new tires to fit the rims. He is asking $6500 the way it is (turf tires). Does this sound like a good price?? Has anybody had any experience with this tractor? Any advice would be apprecieated.

Thanks

There were problems with both the engine and the front end [4wd] . with 800+ hours on it I doubt the engine will be a problem as the bad ones died before the 300 hr. mark. Front end is a different matter, my brother is on his second rebuild at about 1400 hrs. His tractor has ag tires and I have always thought there was too much "lead" (front tires pulling too fast) and that might have caused the damage. Turf tires may not have this problem. Can't comment on the price but no dealer will take my brother's in trade.

Thanks for the info. I will probably stay away from this model then.
