According to tractordata.com the serial number (9A122496) you listed is for a 1971 model. I don't believe there was ever a (9A722496) serial number for the Massey 135 tractor, so (9A122496) is assumed. Note that 1's in the serial numbers tend to look like T's. Not having multipower would be a huge plus for me and I wouldn't worry about the rusted fenders because it's probably just cosmetic. If not, replacement fenders are readily available, either new or from a salvage yard. The wiring is also easily repaired using a wiring diagram, also commonly available.

The hours are a little higher than I would like, but that's just my preference. Given the apparent durability of the Perkins diesel engine, some might say that it's just now getting broken in. The big question (how it runs) will be answered after you've had a chance to operate it, check the fluids, etc...

Lastly, the transmission identification number (894682m6b) seems to indicate that it has an 8 speed (4 high/low) transmission, which is also a good thing. IMO

Thanks Massey, Didn't mean to interupt your thread but I kind of got excited. The wiring on this is a mess, my wife pulled a 110 volt plug from the engine I scratched my head and thought about it and figured it was a block or coolent heater. The under side looked clean rims are rusty and front tires are worn.

No problem. There's nothing wrong with getting excited, we all do it, just try to temper your excitement with wisdom. The front tires and/or rims being shot wouldn't concern me because they're relatively cheap and easy to replace. However, rusty rear rims is cause for concern, depending on how bad they are. Spin in/out rims can cost around $300-$400 each new.

Lastly, you're correct, the AC plug your wife found was probably for a block heater, which is common on diesel engines.

It's easy to rewire a simple tractor like that 135 you're looking at. It helps to have the operator, service and parts manuals.

I ordered my Massey Ferguson owners manual, service manual, and parts manual from AGCO Publications. Parts manuals may also be viewed for free online at AGCO Parts Books. For more information about the manuals I ordered, see my TBN forum posts below.
