I'm trying to find information on a MF 135 which I think is a 1970 UK version. At least that's what my local dealer thinks. Does anyone know where I can look up the serial number for the British made version of the MF 135?

I don't know the serial for the British ones. Does the serial end in UK. I know some did this to show British Built models.

Here is the serial list for the American Built ones.

1965: 641001909
1966: 641014871
1967: 9A10001
1968: 9A39836
1969: 9A63158
1970: 9A87325
1971: 9A107519
1972: 9A128141
1973: 9A152025
1974: 9A182761
1975: 9A207681

The UK tractors had the headlights in a housing on the front grill, as yours does.

UK tractors where used as transportation in many small villages. They where equipped with rear running lights, a hand brake, and foot throttle. They have a hooded lite mounted on the middle upper dash area to illuminate the gauges. The hood was sectional. Open a top flap to put petro in. Open the rear top door to service the battery. They used flat top fenders. Many had enclosures so they could be used in the winter time with a type of tent to capture heat off the engine for the cab. These cabs where easily removed by two people. MF made the US version of the 135 to look more conventional to Ford's version. Infact many parts of MF and Ford are interchangable. Appearance pieces. Headlights, light wings, fenders, etc.

May I make suggestion. There are many dealers of MF in the UK. Investing in one of these classics will lead to ordering overseas for some hard to find parts. Google UK 135's and find a dealer and email them and ask the question as to what year it is by the serial number. I'm sure they would help you out and hope for future bussiness. I've been told by more than one that the serial numbers for UK models are on a left side flat spot in the engine block.

I sent a request to a UK dealer I found online but have not received a response. The serial# is on a data plate below and left of the steering wheel.

MMike posted a valid list of serial number grouping per year. If you tractor has a different serial number then it is an export version. If just makes some parts cost a bit more. Most all the exports where diesels which was the tractor of choice in Canada and overseas .MF135's like your can be found all over the globe. Make in several countries. France, India, England. Serial numbers are mostly to identify the year made. Engine block numbers only show what kind of engine but doesn't tell you when the tractor was made. The xport MF135 had many desirably features not found on US models. Good luck with your tractor.
