Brake Drums
Your brake drum retaining screws dont look as bad as some I have removed.
Most times I loosen these brake screws with heat and direct impact with a large drift.
Try to heat the screw only.
With this method you run the risk of putting a small radial crack in the brake drum, which will not effect them.
If you have an impact driver leave it in the draw where mine has been for the last twenty years.
Penetrating fluids will work once you have movement
My MF 35 has small cracks in both brake drums (I didn't crack them, came that way)
Put new screws in with a liberal amount of anti sieze.
Safest method is to drill them out starting with a 1/8" drill, and gradually increasing size.
Engine
Have you priced a new short motor, before you begin rebuilding yours.
Clutch
Never seen a cross shaft that badly worn.
Are you sure this tractor is worth rebuilding
