you put S rated oil in a machine needing C rated oil.

SG, Did that guy with the 9n ever get his machine to run right??? Can't find that thread.

i never did see a 'result' so can't answer. they way it was headed. if I had to guess.. negative. :) unless he enlisted some help maybee.

You missed my point as well. The oil that was in the tractor was put in there by the mechanic. He would have put in the correct type. However, the oil that leaked out was black...perhaps mixing with the black sealant?

I added three quarts of oil...two quarts of 20-50 and one of 1-40, thinking that the thicker the oil, maybe it wouldn't leak. I will check tomorrow. Any ideas?

so when you say 'I' do you mean you? or the mechanic?

I usually don't refer to other people as 'I'/

10-40 and 20-50 are S rated oils.
