My old 135 had a GM car voltage regulator for years, now that I have the correct regulator I need a schematic diagram to wire it correctly. I think I can do it but would like to see a schematic to verify. I know it's probably in the manual but rather not wait a week for delivery. :)
Thanks!:thumbsup:

What engine do you have? BobG in VA

BTW, a U. S. made Echilin regulator was only $10. more than the fitz-all Chinese part.

OK, have a real problem now. Put the new regulator on and it's charging but as soon as I turn the engine off the regulator gets really hot and one set of contacts glow red.
A=Armature
F=Field
Batt=12V (yellow wire)
L=Lights.

There is a braided white wire from the switch that I thought went to the L terminal, maybe not?

Looks like this; voltage regulator.jpg

Thank you Kenneth S., I had the thing wired wrong. Had the battery and light wire swapped. All works as it should thanks to the diagram.
