Tractor
MF 202
OK People,
I about give up! MF202 workbull. Will not run under ANY load.
What I have done so far:
1. drained fuel and replaced the complete fuel valve assembly and screens.
2. Brand new carburetor and adjusted just fine.
3. Brand new coil.
4. Brand new distributor, points. cap, rotor, condenser.
5. adjusted the governor umpteen million times.
6. Checked the timing.
7. Checked and rechecked the firing order.

This tractor ran fine and then out of the blue just went south. it doesn't spit, sputter, backfire, etc. at all. runs and accelerates fine just sitting. When I put ANY load on it, as in real use, it just loses power and nearly dies.
ANY HOPE OR HELP????
Thank You
Rodney

Did you check it in all gears forward and reverse?

Sounds a lot like trash/stuff got into your gas tank and is starting to slow down your fuel flow...try back blowing your carb line back to the tank...get a good stong flash light and look down in the tank at the exit valve. I had that problem on my 135..you may have gotten bad gas/contaminated with "junk" ....BobG in VA

Did you blow out your fuel lines? Rust is a never ending issue in the fuel tank of older tractors and if any of it flakes off and gets into the fuel line, it can create serious problems with how much fuel you are getting.

How is the muffler? Is there anything in it blocking the flow?

Yes, It does this in all gears, forward and reverse, high and low.

Yes, I flushed the tank, new bowl & valve assembly, new fuel line etc.
Muffler is nearly new with no blockage.

I have tried absolutely everything I could think of and am completely miffed here.

If the Z134 is the same as the Z145, it should have an adjustment screw on the left hand side of the timing cover.

According to the shop manual, this controls surges in the engine speed. The screw is pointed and wedges under a spring which pushes back against the governor.

If this has been screwed in too tight it may not let the governor open the throttle under load.

Back the screw out a half turn at a time, keeping tract of how far you end up unscrewing it, and test run it each time you move it to see if it makes a difference.

This is my take on the problem.
