I have a 1976 MF 135 gas burner with a three-Cyliner Perkins Engine. What should I do to replace the water pump?

I'm assuming it's leaking? I would first source a replacement pump so you can physically see what you are up against. It's usually not too bad of a job, mostly getting stuff out of the way so it can be removed. Careful with removing the fan blade-the radiator cores can be fragile!

Don't know anything about the MF but many times it's easiest to just remove the radiator first - sometimes just two hoses and 4 bolts. Then everything is right in front of you and no access issues.

Remove fanblades........loosen bottom radiatorhose..........loosen 4 mountingbolts and remove old pump.......clean timinggearcover..........mount waterpumpbackplate (backelite or stainlessteel)very importent ! Mount gasket and pump ........mount fanblades.......connect hose and fill with mix off water and anti-freeze !
