Banjo bolts on a diesel

My experience has been, the used copper washers "crush" and aren't thick enough after use, not that they get hardened...

SR

If you measure, You will find that the copper washers "crush" just fine a second third or even fourth time.

I mean , How "thick" do they need to be when they could be replaced by a ring of PAPER. ?

thepumpguysc, I am having some serious difficulty getting these bolts, my local Boltmasters supply could not even match the thread for me to buy bolts and drill them myself. Can anyone tell me if these are British Standard Fine thread bolts or not and what thread pitch they should be. My Tracot is a late 1956 Tef.

You have to buy then as a spare part, should be no problem at all.

Well after calling round and driving round for nearly 4 hours this morning, I got just south of nowhere.
The bolt supply place could not sell me banjo bolts of any description, the hydraulic supply have nothing available smaller than 10mm, nor would they order it.
The diesel injector specialist wanted to drill out all 4 injectors and retap a larger metric thread into them for about $200. Oh and the engine rebuilders said no.
So I thought I would be a bit cheap and ruff with the job, by slicing a cut length ways down a bolt through the threads to make it into a kind of banjo. Trip back to the bolt supply place with injector in hand, and they could not match the thread. So still nothing.
Open to suggestions.
Also I realised that along with the banjo bolts in the same box no less I have put the nuts which hold the injectors into the head, would anyone know the size of those nuts, looks like its back to ordering online.

Just called the MF dealer north of me and their computer has apart number for the leak off pipe but nothing for the banjo bolts at all. They say that they cannot order them or give me any information on them.

The ebay seller is one I have emailed, but as they were described as an oil pressure pipe banjo with no sizes on the add I could not tell if they were correct. i also asked if they knew of a double hole banjo bolt of the correct size.

Sorry Avgv, if that sounded rude. Thankyou for looking for a solution for me on your own time, much appreciated. I am hoping that someone somewhere will have all 4 and I can buy them and just pay one load of post. I remember paying 35$au for a temp guage for my TED back in 2008 then choking at the $45 postage from the UK. But it was a good guage and worked perfectly right up till I sold the tractor.
