I stopped at a Massey dealers the other day to look at something else, and he showed me a new 1529. I thought it looked pretty good though larger than the tractors it replaces. Has anyone bought one? What is the general feeling about these two new tractors?
Thanks,
Chuck

I was in the MF place here last week, had to look at the 1533(since I have a 1433v). I liked the way the dash is laid out and how the controls are set up very much. Haven't run one though.

When Massey sold the 1400 series, I remember the 1429, 1433 & 1440 being essentially the same basic unit with different engines. The 1429 was built for the folks that wanted a larger tractor than the 1428, but were happy with 28 HP. I assume the same formula applies with the 1529. I have a 1540 and love it.

We have 2 1532L in stock. Massey did a nice job on these new 1529-1532 tractors. We have the 1532L 9x3 gear drives. Theres no shift gate. The shifters goes R-1-2-3. The lever moves straight forward for the first 3 gear and all the way back for reverse. Then the 2nd lever is your range lever,High Mid. and Low. The rear fenders are very heavy fiberglass. Much heavier then Deere or NH.

I went by the MF dealer today to look at the 1533 without a salesman looking over my shoulder, and I noticed if you look at the 1532 and the 1533 side by side, you will see that the 1533 is a much larger tractor, and I don't think it's that much more expensive. Also, the 1533 FEL has a lift capacity of 1900 pounds at full height, which I think is quite a bit more than the 1532. FWIW.
