There is a newer hood bracket and fuel filter bracket to address that. 6254071M91 & 6254072M91 cut into prodiction in 2008.

Can they be retro-fitted? I wonder what the cost to do so would be...?

Parts can be retrofitted. Need to check with dealer on cost. I'm pretty sure there is a service bulletin on it for the dealers ot refer to.
