Yes, in a pinch WD-40 can be used to remove stickers. Just like in a pinch you can use it as a lubricant.

A heat gun, and or other solvents like Goo Gone, or Goof Off, or when possible thinner, work better on stickers.

Still only one good use.

Well, the tractor is running fine today. My mechanic came back, after talking to a MF service manager and was able to bleed the injector pump and getting all the water out of it and now it is firing like it should on all three cylinders and it runs great. It took a while but it finally worked. It feels really good to get my tractor back.

Glad it's up and going.

Glad you got it going! Now, to file that away for future reference... If water in fuel, bleed/drain injector pump in addition to tank & filter...

You musta got a boatload of water in your fuel- ouch!

I was surprized at how much water was in there. We drained the fuel tank completely and added all fresh fuel but the stuff that came out was pretty cloudy. Either I got fuel from the service station that had water in it or something happened with my diesel fuel can. At any rate, i guess it doesn't take much water to mess things up when it comes to diesel.

It felt really good to get on the tractor yesterday and I got some jobs done that were pilling up since it went down a week ago. it surprizing how much I use the thing now that i have it.

Moving back east from CA with my old Blazer back in 1976, I picked up a mess of water in Winnemucca, NV... that plagued me all the way to Nebraska when the truck finally died on I-80. Temp was mid-90s; truck & U-Haul trailer, me, my wife, a new baby (howling, of course), and a cat, half way between Lincoln & Omaha, dead on the side of the road.

I had drained water out of the tank, replaced my add-on inline filter and added drygas 3 times already.... Was tearing apart the carb one more time when I finally remembered the sintered-bronze filter at the fuel inlet. Yep, plugged solid. No way could I blow through it to clear it.

Then tore apart the suitcase-sized glove box looking for an old bronze filter saved from a previous tune-up --you never know, right?-- There it was, in a bag with a used distributor cap and a set of points! Put it in, good to go. Lesson learned.

Haven't yet, fortunately, had to deal with water in diesel! (Don't want to!)

I too had a car quit with that little bronze filter all stopped up. I just took it out and went on my way. When I got back home I added an inline filter and never reinstalled that bronze jobby. That car ran for years, I finally gave it to the janitor at a place I was working and I think he's still driving it!
