Default 1500 Series fuel gauge accuracy?

Hello All,

Our 1523 fuel gauge is not very accurate. Yesterday after we picked it up from the dealer, pulled over to the Husky to fill it up, gauge read less than 1/4, but only too 13 Litres/ 3.4 gallons. Tank holds twice that, so my question is, are they all that inaccurate?? Can it be adjusted?

It's not too accurate. It is just like my Chevy truck...takes forever to move off of the full mark, then once it starts to move, it's empty's quickly.

The Massey seems to have a large reserve, which helps not to run out of diesel. When my 1547 fuel needle starts showing on the upper red mark, I can put in 10 gallons only. The brocure says it holds 13.2 gallons.

I agree on the Chevy comparison. My 1533 shows full with 7 or 8 gallons in it and it'll hold 10 or a little less. It also shows empty with 1-1 1/2 gallons left.
