You may want to take this thread to the Massy Ferguson forum up the page a bit. Better chance of getting a response

Welcome to TBN savitz hill farm!

I relocated your post to the Massey forums as another member suggested. You will most likely get a better response here. I left a re-direct to this post in the original forum so you can find this post.

being a multi power I can tell you right now that its a expensive thing to fix.If you look inside the place where the shaft from the clutch goes through into the trans its a housing.Anyway inside there's a couple of metal rings they actually look like like piston rings with a hook on them to keep themfrom spreading open to far.what usually happens is that if there worn they can't open up any further so oil seeps by.The down side to this is that it can also be the housing itself thats worn so it gets very expensive very fast especially if the housing needs to be replaced. On mine I ended putting in new rings but I also took some time and filed out the ring stops to allow the rings to open up a bit further. You can't take to much off either or you won't beable to put things back together as the rings need that to keep them from spreading to far as everytrhing is done what you might say like working inside a hole so if you don't have a manual you should have one for this procedure good luck as always Larry
