Default Dyna 6 transmission

Hey everybody! im new to the forums here and to large tractors and their technologies, i farm with my father in Europe and have purchased a Claas ares and arion tractors of about 105 and 120hp respectively. i know that Claas's are so far unavailable in north america but their transmissions are the same as the new dyna 6 that can be found in the similiar HP range of massey tractors... has anybody had any experiences with this complex transmission? servicing it myself is out of the question as its fully robotized and electronically controlled which is extremely convenient but coming from a background where we could fix our tractors with a few spanners and some commitment. these thins just scare the **** out of me and was just wondering if anybody has any experience with them, thanks in advance and sorry if im in the wrong forum.

Mike

Are claas tractors really unavailable in north america....I have seen a few late model used ones for sale on the net..maybe imports though....You can buy everything else claas like balers,mowers,combines,rakes..it would seem odd for a company the size of claas not to find a way of poking their tractors in here somehow considering we have all the others like fendt,Valtra,Deutz etc

The Claas tractors are rebadged Renaults (Claas bought the tractor line??), and GIMA(Transmissions, but not the Dynastep, that is Fendt.) is a joint venture between MF(AGCO) and Renault.

yes Claas purchased a controlling share, then later on took over the tractor line from Renault, the ares we have is pretty much the exact same as the Renault which goes by the same name, just the colors and plastics are a bit different. so whether you want to call it a Claas or Renault the point is that its been a good tractor for us so far. but it wouldn't have made much sense to drop the established Renault models until "they" (Claas) came up with their own unit, the arion we are getting will be more so a claas but they still use the same transmission (hexashift/dyna 6) or whatever you want to call it and DPS motors from deere.

I'm not so sure if the majority of Claas tractors are available in America i could be wrong in saying that they aren't but last time i checked claas's north american website all they offered was hay equipment, forage harvesters and their xerion "systems" tractor none of their other lineups. why they choose not to include the other models is beyond me...

Not sure on Ontario, but I know there is a Renault dealer in Quebec.
