Default tranny/hyd oil for Massey 165

I have a 1967 Massey 165 and ever since I got it it has had 80/90 gear oil in the trans/3point. The 3 point and impliments are slow, is this correct oil or not?
Thanks, Don from Canada

I would switch out to Permatran. 80W90 is too thick IMHO.

Hey fordman6442. I changed out the fluid on a 135 it called for hydralic/trans fluid. The oem stuff at the Massey dealer was a little pricey so I went for the CIH Hy/Trans which also has the same ratings for manufacturers

How much cheaper is HYTRAN? $77 for a 18L of Permatran.

The local CIH dealer sells the Hytrans UltraII for $62 and the local Massey dealer quotted almost $99 for 18L. The Massey dealer tries to sell everything at the list price, so I only go there when I have to.

G'day drain out the 80w/90 and fill with BP TOU or if you have multi power use BP TF10,FUCHS UTTO, or HY-TRANS. Hope this helps
