Another MF 230 question
Does anybody know where the hydraulic filter for this tractor ( '78' MF 230) is?? Is it a spin on cartridge, or just a screen, or perhaps a hidden filter element. Any help would be great!!

Re: Another MF 230 question
I changed the hydraulics on my 230 and I'm pretty sure it was a screen underneath a retangular cover under the transmission, I don't have that tractor anymore and I'm not 100% sure but take a peek there. Cheers

Re: Another MF 230 question
There is a plate under the rear end housing (Triangular with 3 bolts). You will have to drain the oil from the drain plug on the lower side of the same housing. Once you remove the cover you will see a cap that it will unscrew by gripping the tab. Inside there will be a strainer. You will need to remove the nut for the strainer to come down out of the hole. That is your filter for the 3-point hydraulic system
