Should I be able to lift/lower the MMM/3 point, while the backhoe is hooked up?(2007 GC2310)

I attached the backhoe to move it, and noticed that my mmm would not lift after doing so.I have the drop rate valve open and the height control adjusted to allow it to drop.
After I had no luck with it after 15 minutes or so,I decided to swap the blue and yellow lines on the backhoe and give this a try.Now the mmm will lift and lower but the backhoe wont work.............what gives?
I am pretty sure, when they delivered the tractor, all worked together

any advice?

You cannot operate both at the same time. The hydraulics run the BH or the MMM you cannot hook them up to work at the same time. Be careful doing what you are doing now you may end up damaging your jackshaft for the 3 pt if it gets hung on the BH. They instruct you to lock the 3pt in the up position to prevent this.

Thanks for the reply Wacky
After thinking about it for awhile,it now makes sense, why they dont work together................I thought maybe I screwed somthing up.

Thanks again.

I mow all the time with the BH on. And use the BH with the MMM on. Check the QCs to be sure they are completely connected. You did fold up the 3PT arms before putting on the BH? I even remove the 3PT arms when I have the BH on.

I checked the QCs several times and they seem fine.
I also remove the 3pt arms when the BH is on.

Can anyone else add to this?

sorry to be a PITA with this ,but the more I think about it, the more confused I get:laughing:

tx2310, you are telling me that you can operate the backhoe OR MMM without SWAPPING the pressure and return lines?I dont see how this is possible:confused:>not saying you cant or trying to argue,I just want to understand how its done.

Yes, I can operate the BH and or the MMM without changing any hoses. All 3 hoses are connected to the proper color coding. Older 2310 only have 2 hoses to the BH. All of the hyd valves have power beyond. As long as you are not using a valve you can run anything down the line. You may have a valve that is not allowing power beyond causing it to not work. Cycle all valves on FEL and BH making sure they return to center.

I'll have to check it out again, but I don't think on my 2310 I can raise (lowering is just by gravity) the MMM when the BH's hooked up-- I had to disconnect BH hoses and re-connect the return line to get 3PH (MMM) to raise.

But do be careful to make sure 3PH arms don't interfere with the hoses! I almost cut one off the other day when I dropped the 3PH tiller.

Fortunately, the 3PH arms struck & pulled the sliding coupling on the QC and just disconnected it....:ashamed: But I still had to use a jack to un-pinch the QC so I could re-connect it.:ashamed::ashamed: An inch the other way and it probably would have cut the hose off. Had to go back and use wire ties to hold the hoses up & out of the way.

Mine's an 07 model... perhaps there was a change somewhere along the line?

I remove the link at the 3PH lift arms at the big nut because they are bad at hanging on something when they a dangling or loosing the adjustable link from vibration.

Doug
06 Using the MMM with the BH on for 570 HR. 30 HR without.

Re: Gc2310 backhoe and mmm lift (FIXED)

Talked to the dealer tonite, they are telling me that I should be able to raise lower the 3pt/mmm and operate BH without swapping any hoses.(appeared to me,they didnt seem real sure themselves)

They think I either have a bad connector, stuck valve or hoses are not connected properly.rite now my head is hurting from all of this,so I'm going to wait till after the weekend and talk to them again, because I've tried everything I can think of.

Its still under warranty,so they may have to come get it.

Irv,when you get the time, could you give yours a try and post back?

I will keep you guys posted on the outcome

Tex ,what year is yours?
