The original generator with tach drive is long gone off my father's 1966 2135. Was replaced with used GM alternator, which works fine. However, I would like to get the tachometer working, so my only option seems to be to buy a new aftermarket alternator with tach drive. I found one on ebay for about 200 bucks. Has anyone tried these? Do they work okay? Does the original tach cable just screw onto the end of the alternator and work well.
