Am considering purchase of MF 1250. Dealer also has a 1475 backhoe attachment and Specification publication they received indicates 1475 is compatible with the 1250. The 1250 has front mounting brackets for the 1475but not rear mounting brackets. After some measuring and checking it appears the 1475 would work if rear mounting brackets could be obtained. Further questioning to dealer resulted in him calling Massey Ferguson and was apparently told that the 1475 was not designed for use on the 1250. This does not wash with the indications on the Specification publication received.

1250 Specifications indicates hydraulics has max. 6.7 gals./min. output and relief valve setting for 2133 psi.

1475 Specifications indicates (Boom Hydraulics Circuit Protection Relief Valve at 3000 psi), and Swing Hydraulics Circuit Operating Relief Valve setting for 1200 psi.), and (Dipper Hydraulics Circuit Relief Valve setting of 3000 psi.)

Any Help or Advice? Thank You - Anyone.

1475 should work fine on the 1250. The 1475 is just an upgraded version of the 1217 that is the same vintage as the 1200 series. The rear brackets should be easy enough to get. If the dealer's doing it they should be able to plumb it as well. (though I wouldn't think they would have had to call in to check mounting compatibility though?)

MFred,

Thanks for input. Dealer originally told be the 1475 would work and got me a copy of specs. that indicated it was compatable with the 1250. They were talking about taking the rear mounting brackets from a 1429 tractor that the 1475 came from. But in my checking these brackets would not work on the 1250. Then I was told that the 1475 would not work on the 1250. In further questioning I was told that the sub-frame would not work. There has been no indication of their being able to get rear mounting brackets. I am still in the dark as to whether the think will work.

Any source of information you know of?

The rear mounting brackets are different than the 1429, yes. The part #'s for those are: 1077866M91 for the RH and 1077865M91 for the LH. Those are gonna run $165 each if you have to source them through a dealer. You may find some old new stock if you call around, I'm sure any dealer would be happy to sell leftovers for a deal.

The subframe part #'s are the same. I'm guessing that the 1250 is going to need the spacer plates that go between the front cross brace & the long subframe supports as the 1429 didn't use them.

If you look on Agcopartsbooks.com, you can look at the parts lists for both mountings under the 1475 parts book. Clearly shows the mounting frames & tractor side mountings for reference.

Hydraulic wise, it's going to depend on what you have for valving and what it came off. Should just be some quick couplers, adapters & hydraulic knowledge. I wouldn't get crazy buying a kit for that just yet. Does that 1475 have 2 hose connections or 3 on it?

You need any help, just ask.
