    Default Did something stupid.....

....changed the transmission fluid. Drained the catch pan into an empty oil engine oil jug. Then proceeded to change my engine oil accidentaly using the drained transmission fluid.

Idled the tractor for a few minutes max, backed it out of the garage and noticed the real jug of diesel oil on the bench. Wandered around for 60 seconds trying to figure out what I had just done. Then I clued in. I shut the tractor off. Drained the oil. Pulled the filter and "flushed clean" with some diesel fuel. Poured some car oil through it to try and flush some of the transmission fluid out. Partially filled with car oil (1 or 2 liters) and then drained. Filled with diesel oil. Ran for 5 minutes. Currently draining. I plan to install new filter and new diesel oil when I get to town and can get some. Anything else I should do?

Can't believe I did this - I always tear off the label on jugs of used oil to prevent things like this from happening. The used transmission fluid looked as clear as new oil.....glad I caught it.....

If I did that(....and i I've done stuff like that...as much as I hate to admit it). I would worry more about the fact that I was capable of that sort of thing then what effect it had on the machine.
You just cleaned your engine weather it needed it or not.
I would think there is no harm done...wouldn't wait to long before my next oil change, but your alright( except for that brain fade).
Have a lot on your mind lately?
