Have a 49hp mf tractor with a front end loader. The lift is very slow can you give advice.

How many hours on the tractor and has the hyd filter and fluid ever been changed? Do you possess a high pressure (2500+) hyd pressure gauge? If so, you could gauge it.

The speed of a hydraulic actuator is governed by the pump output. If you know the pump capacity and the actuator size you can calculate the speed.

Velocity = G/A where G is the pump output and A is the actuator area, 0.7854*Da^2.

Here's a simple example. Supose you have a 5 gpm pump@ 1500 rpm pump speed and a 2" piston on the cylinder. 231 cu in per gallon * 5 gpm/60= 19.25cu in per sec. A= 0.7854 *(2)^2= 3.15 sq in. So V = 6.13 in/sec=0.51 ft/sec If the stroke is 3 ft, the actuator will extend 3 ft in 5.9 seconds if you have two cylinders than it will take twice as long cause you have to fill both. So if your 5 gpm pump pushed your lift cylinders out in 20 seconds instead of 12 seconds, then you could conclude the pump output was down or the pump inlet( i.e. filter) was clogged.

Have you checked the quick disconnect fittings. I have seen these cause these symptoms.

With the engine off bleed the pressure off of the FEL quick disconnects by moving the FEL control valve through lift and dump with the engine off.

Then disconnect the quick disconnects and reconnect them.

Sometimes they will push out by pressure to restrict the flow.

What model tractor. Some older MF tractors had very low flow - you might need to install a combining valve. Combining valve allows oil to flow to 3 point in 1 direction and diverts 3 pt oil to loader valve in the other direction to allow loader to cycle faster.
