I have a large pair of channel locks. On my first oil change I could not get them around the filter because of the oil tube and panel bracket. To tight of a squeeze. But thanks to everybody. I think I need to invest in a 65mm end cap wrench. I think even that might be tight to slip on the end of the filter. That tube is up in front of the filter slightly and is only about an inch away from the filter. Even as I was taking the filter off you have to tip it up to get it to clear. Off course you then dump the rest of the oil all over everything and can't get in there to clean it up.

It is tight as well, the bracket that holds the side panel is the biggest obstacle for that tool because it is hard to come out perfectly straight with the ratchet extension.I didnt need to put a swivel on but if it was any tighter I may have....

Not right now. I'll take one farther away tomorrow and will take the FEL off. It is just easier to work on. I'm going to change the Hydrostat oil and motor oil both. I like that I can open the hood and remove the side panels as well. Most everything is real easy to get to.

They make one that looks like a socket try it.

Yeah I think that sounds like the same problem I have. I went to town to get some stuff I needed and was going to get a one of those, then CRS kicked in and I didn't get it.

Yes that is the end cap wrench we have been talking about. Thanks!

I think it is just you. :). You are seeing the bottom of the fuel filter. The bottom is clear so you can see sediment or water.

I see it now that I looked again.

I did buy a end cap wrench today, it does fit in there. I think if I make sure to remove it before spinning the filter off it will work ok.

Correct, just use it to crack it loose, and snug it up. Do the rest by hand.

William Bros is spot on with his answer - use an end cap filter wrench
