MF 1020 won't start
Have a MF 1020 and the starter will not engage. Gear selector is in S. PTO is off. Is there another starter cut-out?Battery has good charge & glow plugs are pulling a load. Elec system is otherwise normal. I have a nagging feeling, I have missed another cut-out switch. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. There is a safety switch that is activated when clutch is depressed.

Re: MF 1020 won't start
Thanks Mike. I should have remembered to add that I had the clutch depressed. I had this rig parked for about 6 weeks and I often leave the PTO engaged for additional " security". I have this nagging feeling I left another starter cut-out switch open. I just can't remember what it might be......argh.

Re: MF 1020 won't start
While jumping my starter, I discovered two things:
1. The starter spun fine but was not engaging the eng.
2. The starter solinoid had a disconnected electrical wire.
Reconnected the solinoid bayonet and she is back in service.
Not sure if I had pulled that wire but I'm reminded; "I'll never remember the things I've forgot."
Thanks for your help Mike.

Re: MF 1020 won't start
A disconnected wire is the hardest thing to see. On my 1020 the wire that goes into the ground connector is loose. Sometimes if it won't start I have to give it a wiggle. It like a added security feature.
