Hi All
I am re-doing the transmission in my F40 and was wondering what oil to put in it. The manual calls for a mineral oil 90 wieght, and I checked back in some forums here, but am confused. Is a GL1 90 what I want to use or GL 2,3,4,5????? Thanks Mike

GL1 90 is a gear oil you need to find a gear with MF 1103 spec.

GL1 SAE 90 oil is what the OEM speced for your F40. Most of the Universal Tractor Fluids (UTF) are also compatible. NAPA carries GL1 for sure as you noted. AGCO dealers whould carry MF 1103 oils IF they are still available but most of the newer speced oils are back compatible to the older tractors.
