I am going to buy the TSC store 3PH Post Hole Digger for a bunch of fence posts I need. My MF dealership said the GC series tractors cant handle a 12" auger-the 9" and under is okay but not the 12". Have you tried this combination on the GC tractors yet?

It really doesn't take much HP to run a PHD. Perhaps your dealer thinks the 12' auger is too much overload for the PTO drive on the GC2400-1700.

If you haven't, check out our EverythingAttachments Compact Post Hole Diggers that are made just for subcompact and small compact tractors. We sell plenty with 12" augers. They ship free to your home within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC. Maine is excluded from our free shipping zone but the shipping will be very reasonable.(probably around $40 depending on your location)

I only have a 12" auger for my post hole digger. I run it at an idle and it does fine. It sounds like hog wash to me.

Thanks everyone-I figured it was hogwash-should be getting the post hole digger with the 12" auger soon.

Mine handled it just fine.I did have to make extensions to get enough lift to clear the ground.

Wow, only one rock and no clay........you are blessed:)

Would love to try one here to see if I could do it. The place I live in is called Flat Rock, Pa. We are even on the map
