WHat is the name of the part that the joystick attaches to, to operate the loader? The valve body part? Is it a fel?
I have a 2310 and the hydraulic fluid is leaking out pretty bad! Can I rebuild it (the part for which I don't know it's name), or do I need a new one?

Sunday bump!!!
What is it called a spool? Loader control? Valve body?
Anybody?

Control valve is what I call it. Valve, control, spool valve, hydraulic control, hydraulic valve. I'm sure there's more.
It can be rebuilt. There's a tag for identification on it you will need the numbers on it to get the right spool seals.

Aaron, how'd you make out? Here's a page from the Service Manual; they called it a control valve assembly. Sorry the photo quality isn't great-- if you need a blow-up, just let me know.

Some control valves can be rebuilt, but that is to only replace o-rings for the spool shafts.

If the spool shaft and or bore is worn, there is no solution for that. They are a precision fit.

A new control valve is called for such as these joystick valves.

2 SPOOL COMPACT 10 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE

2 SPOOL 14 GPM PRINCE LVR JOYSTICK LOADER VALVE

You should be able to simply remove and replace using whatever fittings you need.

Well, Aaron, best of luck, and please keep us all posted as your progress. If you could get some pics of the leaking, perhaps someone here can give you more accurate advice, other than simply replacing the whole valve.... irvingj

Thanks for the support guys. Those links to the two spool valves will come in handy.
The update isn't so good. I reinstalled the joystick unit because we had a snow storm coming. Any way after I installed it I couldn't get the backhoe to operate unless I also was operating the bucket, so I locked the hoe into travel mode.
After the storm passed I used the bucket to move the snow and then parked it. Since then I've started it and now the bucket won't operate either?! The machine is not low on fluid and will still move under her own power, although the power steering is really stiff. :(
Does anybody have any ideas on what my most recent 2310 issue might be?:(
I'm going to drain the unit and check the screen. If it's full of metal again I'm going to be very sad/angry!?:(
