Massey Compact owners: hydraulic system maintenance

The filter numbers I found required digging. But, I would assume that most of the machines coming out of the Iseki factory would use similar filters.

Look at it this way... There are only a handful of actual filter producers out there. Yet, a Mobil 1 filter can be found for nearly every application. Chances are, all we need to discover is thread pattern and flow characteristics.

I can measure the thread dimensions, but don't know how to determine flow.

I just bought the spin-on hydraulic filter for my 1529 from my local Massey dealer. The AGCO #3608996M91 they gave me matches TSO's part # for his 1652 tractor. I'll be checking out the local NAPA store for my next hydraulic filter using the number TSO posted up. Thanks!

Excellent! I have a 1529 I just bought used and this info makes me very happy. Thanks!

When changing to an aftermarket filter like Napa or mobil, you should make sure they have the same micron rating other wise you could be putting your machine in danger by letting larger than designed for particles flow thru your valves . I work with very integrated hydraulic systems and we have filters as low as 1 micron. The lower the micron rating usually the more expensive. If you call the manufacturer they will tell you the rating on that particular filter.

Anyone have the "skinny" on the aftermarket filters for the 1736 yet?

Just an update...

The original part number for the metal-mesh suction filter is 7069948M91 but I believe that number was replaced by 6255299M92. Those are Agco numbers. They are around $130/ea (2 required).

Here's pics of the SKU #.

Also, here's something interesting. I usually use Donaldson filters for my HST filter. I was grabbing one today (I have 2 in stock) and noticed that one of them was made in Poland, the other in Mexico. Makes me wonder who Donaldson contracts to make their filters, and if they're the same between Poland & Mexico... ? May be silly to say, but I feel like the Poland filter is of better quality, subtly. 20190412_174639.jpeg20190413_180842.jpeg20190413_180938.jpeg

I worked for Donaldson for almost 12 years and more than likely those were both built in Donaldson Plants. They have multiple facilities in Poland as well as Mexico. I do not work for Donaldson any longer, but I can honestly say that they do build top quality filters they would never compromise quality for cost and put their name on it.
