Some folks might not be aware of the cleanable, metal-mesh hydraulic filters underneath the tractor. These need to be removed and cleaned. I believe the first cleaning is required at 150 hrs.

They are definitely not as convenient to service as typical spin on canisters, but then again, no extra cost is required either. I'm not sure if Massey/Iseki is the only Mfg that uses this design, but I know at least Kubota, Kioti, and LS use traditional spin on filters for general hydraulic and HST filtering. Not sure if it is an advantage or disadvantage... Just make sure you service them.

If you have a HST model, you will also have an additional spin on bypass filter, only $13 from NAPA for that one.

My 1526 has the same set up. When I did my 50 hour maintenance last winter I removed and cleaned the mesh filter and replaced the cannister.

I tried to find a local source for the spin on cannister filter so as to avoid the drive to the nearest MF dealer, but had no luck. I was told that maybe once the particular filter that my 1526 uses has been out for a bit, maybe there'd be an aftermarket part for it.

Good find, I'm going to have to check mine. I don't recall this in my owners manual, but I have noticed one difference between it and the tractor.

TSO - pray tell that NAPA part number for the hydrostat spin-on filter. I want to check if it'll work on my 1754. Pretty please?

These are my notes on my 1652:

Engine oil, 10w-30, or 5w40, 8.5 qts, 3/4 drain bolt.
-Coolant: 8 Qts (7.6L)
-Hydraulic oil, Permatran III, 7/8" drain bolt, 8.2 gal.
-Front axle Permatran III, 6.2 qts, 11/16 bolt.

Oil filter:
Mobil 1 #M1-102
AGCO #3757038M2
ISEKI #6213-240-005-1
DENSO #115010-5250
NAPA #1348

Hydraulic filter:
AGCO #3608996m91
Napa #1664 ($13)
Fleetguard #HF28850
Donaldson #P556005
Wix #51664

...

Still working on a cheaper source for air filters (engine and cabin)

I found that in order to remove the mesh suction filter on my 1734E the frame rail for the loader had to be removed first. The filter can not be pulled all of the way out with the rail in place. I assume it is the same on the 1725E and 1739E.
Thanks also for the filter numbers, I will need to cross check the agco numbers for mine. Their prices are a whole lot higher than $13!

The spin-on canister hydraulic filter for my 1529 was $179!
NAPA has no cross reference yet...

Going to look for the metal sump filter though...thanks for posting that!

Ouch, I thought I got robbed at $79 from my dealer. At least that's what I believe I paid, but I'm sure it wasn't $179.

The hydrostat filter for my rig was $79. The AGCO number 7069738M1 doesn't match, or even resemble, what TSO reported, though. I'll have to see if I can find dimensions for NAPA filters to compare with my used one that I kept for just such a purpose.
