Bringing my new (used) GC2310 up to speed.. The boots around the front steering tie rods are shot. One is badly damage and one is simply gone. I put grease in/on the connections, but that is only a temporary fix.
I'm trying to figure out if I need only new rubber boots or need new knuckles and new rubber boots. There is play in the knuckle, unlike the tie rod ends, where there is no play at all.
How much play is in your steering knuckle? None? Some? Lots? Next time you're out on your tractor, can you raise the front wheels and check the play in your tie rod knuckles and let me know?
Any ideas appreciated!
