MF 1020
I recently purchased a MF-1020. Serial # 01998. Does anyone know the year it was made?
Is the pto live?
It has a hydro Trans. Is that any good?
I paid $3900.00 for it is that a fair price?
It has turf tires on it is that original?
The paint & sheet metal all seem straight & good.
It has no leaks, don't smoke and has a 3cyl diesel. Not sure of the engine manf. Runs good. The tag also says series 2962Last edited by BBB; 11-30-2006 at 04:26 PM.

Re: MF 1020
I have a MF 1020 late 1980's with 1500 hr. It has live PTO, power steering, and FEL. I have the manuals for it including the service manual for the 1000 series 1010, 1020, 1030, and I think 1045, only the 1010 and 1020 were hydro. No problem with the hydro, but the CVU in the front end have both been replaced and the override cluch for the PTO.

Thanks HTWT I haven't picked up the tractor yet but I am looking forward to using it. Did your FEL come on the tractor or was it an aftermarket? What size is the FEL?

Re: MF 1020
Scott,
My service manual covers the 1010 standard and hydro, 1020 standard and hydro, 1030 standard and synchromesh, 1035, 1040 and 1045. I bought it when I had to replace the override for the PTO. It cost around $150 4 or 5 years ago.

Re: MF 1020
BBB, I also have a 1020 HYDRO. Near as I can find, it's a 1985. I now have around 1500 Hrs on it and am very satisfied. Several years ago I was pulling a plow in MEDIUM range when I should have been in LOW and hurt the pump/motor unit. Made much more noise than before and eventually had a loss of power as a result of over working it. Is fixed now and doing good. If you are interested in seeing the insides of the hyro unit you can view pics of mine in pieces here http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/m...-my-hydro.html
Keep your RPMs up and use lower ranges when doing hard work and you should never experience the problems I had. My dad and a brother also have 1020s and have never had any problems.
Welcome to TBN;
Rick

Re: MF 1020
Thanks Guys,
I am making arrangements to move the tractor from Fl where I bought it to La where I need it. As soon as I get it I will post a pic.
Thanks again.
Barry
