Will I hate myself for getting AG tires on my new BX?? I have to let the sales guy know early this week. I am going to be mowing grass mostly. Some snow plowing in the winter. I really think the AGs look cool. Stupid reason to pick tires but then again Ive chosen the BX because it isn't fashioned like an AMC Pacer. Soooo... any good advice is appreciated. I think I will also be getting the 54" front plow for snow. I REALLLLLY want a FEL but I just can't justify it AT ALL.
TRESCROWS - what is an A&P?? Aerospace ind?
Also, thanks to all for steering me to the BX, I can't wait till Saturday!

I have turfs on mine, and only once have i wished for Ags. You have to look at what you are going to do with her and balance the extra traction against potential damage to your lawn, as ags do tend to dig in a bit. In any case, your sure gonna love your new toy! Have fun! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Rogue, without an FEL I should think that the bar tires are not needed. If you want them get them but I think you could get them later when you realize you do need the FEL.
An A&P is the Federal Aviation Authority rating required to work on aircraft and sighn off maintenance and 100 hour inspections etc. It stands for A---airframe and P---powerplant. The two ratings achieved seperately together constitue the A&P. Just cuz you wanted to know. J

Rogue,
I have the bar tires, and love them for doing loader work. Not so for the lawn. They do leave the lawn dug up in spots, and if the lawn is soft at all the bars leave their impression.I have a set of turf tires and rims on order from the dealer.
My tractor has the HST pedal sticking problem, and my dealer said spray WD-40 on it and it will work the problem out.Anyway could you please ckeck and see if you have a grease fitting on the pedal? thanks

As mentioned in other threads, if you do not have a grease fitting on the pivot for the HST, there is a service bulletin on this. The dealer can verify this by calling Kubota. They will order a replacement for the HST pivot that has a fitting preinstalled, or if you prefer, you can put one in yourself...

Ours have the fitting and also some sort of fuel system fix (bladder?)
I will go with the turfs and the 54" plow.
Anyone push dirt with the plow? I wonder how well it works pushing dirt?

I debated the same issue when I purchased my BX, but went with the turfs. Even with the turfs, I've dug into the lawn a bit.
As for the turfs when using the FEL, I've only had one situation where I wished I had the AG's.

Rogue,
My drive way is 400 ft to the house,50 ft to the barn/garage,and 100 ft down to the pond. This winter I used the BX2200 and front mounted snow blower with the bar tires and it was great. The tires are loaded,so thats maybe why I'm not 100% happy on the lawn. Also this winter my above ground pool collasped. So my sturdy BX/FEL and I are digging out for a bigger pool, but I think my bride is wondering just how much dirt needs to be moved.

hey rogue,
i got the ags on my bx2200 and love them. i have 1.2 acre and half the mowing is hilly. i would be suffering if i went with the turfs. i have used the FEL alot also and the ags help bite in. i will be moving snow also this winter and the front of the driveway is very steep. the bx does really look cool with these tires. here is a pic of mine and i had to take off the ROPS to modify it.
