Wife got some more hours in on the BX, she knows the L35 has a shifter and compares it in her mind to the Ford which she won't get on. Today after a project she asked me if there are any bigger tractors than the BX with "her go-pedal"

I mumbled some sort of evasive answer but I think I felt my nose growing.

Uh Oh...

I made a mistake the other day and let my wife make a round or two
on my 2910 while I cooled off with a glass of ice water. Now I hear " I
sure would like this smoothed out, moved over here, pushed over there,
you needed to cut this, or I could do it".
No no dear, That's just what I was about to do!

My wife certainly would be capable of driving my B1700, being HST and all, but she and I have an understanding. The tractor is mine, all mine, and only mine. In return she gets the house, barn, farm, horses, the 1999 Suburban (my car has 120,000 miles on it), furniture, checking account, gets to make all the family decisions on purchases, vacations, etc, gets to decide how many kids we should have, how many pets, where all the money goes, where we live, gets to decide what jobs I need to do around the house, and basically runs all of my life EXCEPT SHE NEVER EVER TOUCHES THAT TRACTOR!!!!! Seems like a fair trade to me.

Now that I've stopped laughing I can make a reply./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
But Paul you gave up the entire barn? Where does the tractor stay? Or is she nice enough to rent you a stall for the tractor?

My wife will drive the 8-n all day but won't touch my L-3750 with a ten foot pole. Now when I had the B-20 I made the mistake of letting her move it for me. Wow thats easier to drive than the 8-n your new tractor that your going to buy is going to have that same kind of pedal thingy? What could I say---she was born in the dark but it wasn't last night!!! Nope it will be different than that./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Del,

Just a word of advice...If you feel it's bad with the Kubota tractor...Then, Don't make the mistake of having a couple of dozer's sitting around...and at the same time have a wife that likes moving LOTS of BIG STUFF around./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Paul: that sounds like the same arrangement I have with my wife. Uh, make that 'had'. I got home today and there's my 10 year old working with my wife using the loader to clear out a section of our barn. No problem, he's been helping me the past few weekends so I'm glad to see him at work. Then I noticed that the rotary cutter had been mounted (I had a carry-all on last night), 5 hours had been added to the hourmeter, and about 5 acres had been mowed! My wife infomed me that "well, it is my tractor since I'm paying for it - remember, I own you, I own everything, your job is simple: just bring me your paycheck". Anyway, between my son and wife, they obviously had no trouble figuring out how to change implements and run the rotary cutter! Uh, . . . yes dear, that's great.

If your wife knows how to run your tractor, and isn't afraid to drive it...then you obviously didn't buy one that is big enough!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Been nice knowing you all - my wife just read this thread! Actually it's not that bad, it's worse. She just informed me that tomorrow she's taking the tractor down the road to a friend's to brush hog her pasture!

My wife reads the posts from time to time isn't amazing how they know when you've said something about them!!! Just hope she charges for the brush hogging. My wife will run the 8-n all day with the brush hog on it but wont touch My Kubota thank goodness. Just hope it stays the same when I get my new one./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
