I came across these photos of a MF240 with the 3pt lift arms that have additional supports that link to the axle. This is probably a noob question but what would these be used for? Does it prevent the lift arms from going up and down? TIA
I worked with a local dealer to try and determine which inner filter is required but they were unable to locate it. They recommended 3824032M1 and 3824033M1 but the inner filter had too small of inner diameter to fit.
Here is what I have....
The search continues....
I ordered two filters from an online supplier. Using their website I located the two filters that should fit my tractor. Wwhen ordering I sent them my serial number to verify fitment.
Long story short, the inner filter doesn't fit. The opening is too narrow compared to the one I took out...
I have a MF240 and it has a valve that takes the hydraulic flow from the internal pump and diverts it from the 3pt to my loader. I am not sure what it is called but here is a picture of it.
I will see if I can find a name for it. It installs in place of the "Transfer Cap" as seen in Fig. 209...
I am relatively new to tractors and diesel engines... I bought this MF a few years ago and have only put on ~20 hours.
I recently replaced the fuel filter and O-rings on my MF240 and it is still leaking. It drips once every 10-15 seconds. It appears to leak at the top and bottom of the...
I thought the same thing But there are no O-rings in the existing hose connections. Basically what I have done is replaced every a ring that I have pulled out but I still have several left over. So I can only assume the kid has some extras in case there are different cylinder options.
In the...
Cylinder 25H42433
Seal Kit 90939
I ordered the seal kit from Bush hog to rebuild the cylinder and the larger O-rings are obvious where they go. But I am perplexed on where the smaller O-rings are to be installed. I just now started to disassemble the cylinder any guidance would be appreciated.
My ROPS never folded and my barn door is large enough to pull the tractor in without issue. But if it did fold I think I could have welded in some stops that would allow it to fold back and not contact anything. But the top I have is so long it would most likely be as tall as the ROPS.
So you have two steering cylinders?
It depends how fast the one cylinder is leaking. If it is a steady stream, that could be your issue. If you wanted to rebuild the cylinders it is not that difficult to do with basic hand tools. And to do both sides it is less than $60 in parts.
I bought a used golf cart canopy off of CraigsList for $40 and used some scrap angle iron I had to mount it to my ROPS. The MF ROPS had bolt holes in all the right places. I have hit it on a few good size branches and it has held up well. It was in service for several years before I got it so...
I can't answer your question but when you find the answer let me know. Here is an exploded view of the brakes. This is for the 240 orchard models or MF250

Early 90s MF240 power steering
I have a 240 with the hydraulic dual cylinder "orchard" steering system. I need to change the fluid. I have read many post that suggest ATF (automatic transmission fluid)....
Do I need to use ATF or automotive power steering fluid?
Thanks in advance for the...
Not sure about the first part but as far as the hoses, if it is like my MF240, it does matter where the hoses go. I hooked mine up backwards by accident and it caused the steering not to work and the pump to screech.
