Z445 Kawasaki Twin Cylinder - Hard start & Valve adj

Yep, hes a trained mechanic so I enlisted him as Helper! :) All reassembled and mower started much better. Not instant vroom, but it hasnt been this good since I cant remember when. The idler pully was just draggin on the motor...prolly my old battery wasnt as dead as I thought...oh well, it...

Z445 Kawasaki Twin Cylinder - Hard start & Valve adj

Having figured out whats what by messing with it, the vid I posted was all I needed for confirmation. I am used to working on dirt bike engines and being able to lock the adjustment nut much tighter than you can via that allen screw. So, I fiddled with them a little and figured out how to...

Z445 Kawasaki Twin Cylinder - Hard start & Valve adj

Thanks! I'll hafta take a spin through that. We found what was wrong....it wasn't actually the engine....it was the idler pulley that goes to the transmission drive belt. After monkeying around with it, no air cleaner so max air, new plugs, choke/no choke/fully charged new battery we got it on...

Z445 Kawasaki Twin Cylinder - Hard start & Valve adj

You'd think! Thats what I thought too before we started, but its the other way around. I found a YT vid on it. I've never seen an engine like that, but have mostly worked on dirt bike engines, so my experience is limited. I readjusted them back to .005....had went to the tight end of the...

Z445 Kawasaki Twin Cylinder - Hard start & Valve adj

This mower has been a PITA to start ever since I got it ~12 years ago. Its always been a search for the magical combination of crank with choke/no choke/let sit/crank/eventually start. I never found the magical sequence, but always got it to start. Would not start this spring, so I got a new...

    Fueling tractor

Well, I hoist up the 5 gallon can, but with the spout removed, and a funnel inserted in the top of the tank. I'm tall enough that holding it to pour like that isn't too bad, and I get very little spillage. Nice little isometric bicep exercise! :) I usually only fill tractor to about 3/4 cuz...

    Chipper  Wallenstein BX60

I've been looking for a few months for a used BX62 to show up, so far, haven't seen one. Recently, a new BX60 popped up which is perhaps 750-1000 less than a new BX62. It seems to me that the difference between a BX60 and a BX62 is that the BX 62 has one more knife (4 vs 3). My tractor is a...

    How disable seat switch

I'm trying to disable my seat switch on my Z mower. I know....this is a tractor forum! Just pretend....its a Deere at least! Anyway, I unplugged it (its a simple 2 prong plug) and mower starts but I can't release the brake or it dies. I'd like to simply put a jumper across the terminals in...

    3520 Transmission Shift Issue

Have 08 3520 eHydro. Sometimes when I'm going from A to B (stopped of course) it doesn't want to go into B. If I move the tractor a little fore/aft then it will go right in. Do others have this same issue? Thanks! Dave

Rear Blade  JD 3120 & Rear Blade Size

Thought the tractor decison was the hard part! Anyway, thinking of getting a JD 3120 and uses will be moving snow (bucket and blade), grading our gravel driveway and perhaps scraping some dirt around to sorta make a small remote control car track. Anyway...primary use is snow and gravel...
