    TC40DA Battery cable routing

What is the correct routing for the positive battery cable on a TC40DA, please? I can see no practical routing where it is not in close proximity to the exhaust and/or likely to foul on the alternator pulleys.

    TC40DA - A load of hydraulics!

I recently changed the hydraulic oil on my tractor as I'd noticed that the Aercore was dropping after switching the tractor off. Didn't change the filter, unfortunately. However, since changing the oil I'm still having issues. I've read a number of posts/threads regarding this and it looks as...

    Pitch Renovation

I realise I'm a little bit 'in the middle' when it comes to amenity but I guess this is the best place to post this. The contractors came recently to renovate our football (soccer) pitch and, whilst I'm waiting for germination (So called 'European monsoon' notwithstanding) it seems that...

    Useful tool

I, rather cleverly, snapped a bolt in a shaft on my Aercore 1500. Tried all sorts to get the thing out but, eventually came across a tool that, had I known about it and had one at the outset, would probably have extracted the remains of the bolt. Unfortunately previous attempts at extraction...

    TC40DA won't start

My tractor's been laid up for a while and, when I come to use it, it won't start. It behaves as though a safety switch is preventing it from starting but all seems in order other than that I can't locate the switch for the gear lever (HST). I turn the key to the ignition position and wait for...

    Ticking noise

I was in the process of sorting out a fuel blockage so haven't yet had the opportunity to investigate this properly. But when I turn the key to the 1st position there is a ticking noise coming from the dash. If anyone can give me any clues I'd appreciate it.

    TC40D fuel problem

Well, when I finally got my compressor up there I gave it a blast up the pipe and fuel started flowing almost immediately. So I went through the bleeding process  and, after a few coughs and splutters, it started and ran. I let it run for a while but didn't do anything further since it...

    TC40D fuel problem

I have no doubt that you are correct. Can't say I feel very enthusiastic about it though. As I said earlier I'd take a photo of the, erm, 're-wiring' so you could see what I'm faced with. Don't know what went on with the previous owner but this is what I've got now:

    Where is it?

As you'll see from the other thread I'm having some fuel trouble with my tractor. Whilst researching the site for information I found a thread wherein 'Jinman' had posted photos of a new and a burnt out fuel cut-off solenoid. Unfortunately I didn't take note of where this was and I've been...

    TC40D fuel problem

Okay. Before I spend Easter Monday mauling with this beast a couple of questions to, hopefully, prevent me from 'barking up the wrong tree'. In the fuel tank diagram that I've - hopefully - attached it shows an 'elbow' at the bottom of the tank. Excuse my ignorance but what is the purpose of...

    TC40D fuel problem

There I was, aerating a neighbour's football (soccer) pitch when, halfway though my TC40D died on me. Several curses were muttered and, on inspection, it was found that no fuel was coming through. Since there was no fuel at all I reckoned it had to be the fuel pump as I'd expect some sort of a...

    Countryfile - Of interest?

Here in Englandland the BBC screen a programme every Sunday called 'Countryfile'. On this week's programme there was piece where they visited a New Holland factory and witnessed the manufacture and production of these machines. It wasn't as comprehensive as it might have been but may still be of...

Oil & Fuel  Hyd oil drain questions

I am preparing to change the hydraulic oil on my TC40DA HST for the first time. There's nigh on 10 gallons of the bloody stuff in there so I've got two large receptacles each of which should hold in the region of 5 gal. This, though, presupposes that I'll get an equal amount of oil from each...

    TC40DA bonnet (hood)

On my TC40DA I cannot open the bonnet (hood) without removing the weights. Is this a design fault or an indication of previous damage? To be fair I haven't checked if the bracket can be moved but from memory I don't think so.

    Handy site! (UK)

Found this this recently. Pretty good I reckon for anyone UK based. May also be convenient for our colonial cousins!! :)
