    PT-180 Tram pump issues

Alright, so I do have some resolution on this. I got it all figured out back in January, but have been a bit busy. So I called up Terry. He recommended I remove the pump (again!) and send it back to them. Upon receipt Terry confirmed that the pump was rebuilt / reassembled incorrectly. There...

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

As an update to everyone. I did some more investigation this weekend. Eventually I decided to pull the pump and set it on my workbench. I filled it with oil. About 10 minutes later oil started seeping from the "crack" (aka the place where the pump housing is separated). I am pretty frustrated...

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

So Power Trac is closed for the week. I will update this post next week after I talk to Terry. I am going to inspect is further this weekend, if I find anything new I will update.

Yes, to me that is part of the tram pump. Now I feel like that should all be sealed up, but I'm not entirely certain..... The smaller pumps connected further back (that each have a hose on the left and the right) are working fine.

I just added a new photo. If you click then click again (to zoom) I think it becomes more obvious...

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

Do you see the open gap at the top of the "after" pictures. Notice how at corner the gap closes, but on both sides of it, the gap is open? I believe that gap is showing me the internals of the pump. AKA that gap is not supposed to be there and beyond being totally screwed up, is not allowing...

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

I spent half the weekend driving around town to find a new battery. Turns out a "group 45" is rare. But a Group 51 is close. To answer your question, yes I fixed that :).

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

I am not sure what a charge pump is, but if you are asking if I am literally missing a hydraulic pump of some type, No is the answer to that. All of the pumps that came with the tractor are on there, nothing removed.

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

I did not, but I did change the oil filter and primed that. Do you think even after running it for ~5 minutes that there would be some type of air bubble in there still? Edit: Terry told me to remove the top hose and fill the pump, which I did. So the pump is full AND the filter is full. I...

    PT-180 Tram pump issues

So some of you are aware that I have recently sent the Pump on my PT-180 back in to get serviced. I got it back and was finally able to get up to my property this weekend to put the reman pump back in. A couple hours later and I'm having some issues. Pump is back in, all hoses are connected...

PT-180 Clicking or thunking from wheels under stress

So I just got my pump back from Power Trac today. Unfortunately I won't be back near the tractor for another week or two. Terry called me Monday, he indicated that the "valve was lifting", or something like that. So I guess the valve plate or something? I asked how it happened, he basically...

PT-180 Clicking or thunking from wheels under stress

Well just an update for everyone. I took the pump out last night. It was a lot easier than I anticipated. I ended up leave the main (tram?) pump connected to the two smaller pumps. It was hard to get a wrench in there and I was worried about forward and backward play if it was even possible to...

PT-180 Clicking or thunking from wheels under stress

I do have a schematic. Basically there are wheel motors, the treadle and the pump and the filter. nothing else of note (as far as I can tell).

PT-180 Clicking or thunking from wheels under stress

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered a JIC 04 06 08 10 12 14 cap and plug kit from Amazon. Tractor is in a rural-ish location, I might end up spending half a day tracking those down, which wouldn't be fun.

Terry recommended I cap all the lines. I am hoping the local tractor supply store just has them in stock.
