    No more Yanmars....

Long time no here. I sold my property last year along with my 1500 which was a sad day. I miss it dearly. Moved interstate and brought the YM14 with me in case I bought some land again but we settled on a large suburban block so it wasn't needed either so I sold it a few weeks ago too. They were...

What did you do to your Yanmar today?

I've been busy building a new internal fence, this time it's much more sturdy as my wifes horse destroys normal wire fencing...:smiley_aafz:

What did you do to your Yanmar today?

These would have to be the best 2 implements I ever bought, PH Auger and forks. That leak looks to be on the outside of the seal and not on the shaft.Even a big slurp of Lucas stop leak won't fix this one.

    Fell for that old chestnut.

Went to use the YM14 today to mow some grass at my property boundary. Started it up and went flying down the drive, got to the bottom and had no drive. Pulled the filter and checked the fluid-all good. Tore all the back end off it and checked linkages, selector pins and anything I could think of...

What did you do to your Yanmar today?

I thought I might start a thread purely for folks doing bits and pieces to their Yanmar of any description that they might want to put here instead of starting a separate thread for it. I'll start with having to do another patch up of my YM14 mower deck again. The RH spindle broke through and...

Forum for air cooled diesel engines and clones

I bought a wood splitter a while ago and it has the 186F diesel on it too, seems to run OK and can split redgum at basically idle.

    Another Home made implement.

I haven't made anything in a while, I guess I didn't really need anything. I needed to dig an area out to level it up for a chicken run but it was full of tree roots and the like and as we well know FEL's don't really dig that well for starters in solid soil let alone get roots out too. I...

    YM140-7 Belly mower question

I have the Euro YM14 with a Bar style blade conversion using standard push mower blades bolted to the centres of an old set of bar blades which works a treat, and is cheap to replace blades but if I mow anything other than clean twig free grass it eats through them. I wanted to go back to bar...

I have video of it but can't put it up here so a pic or 2 will have to do.

hydraulic line return at dip stick

Yeah my return is in an adapter like that. I also added a filter to act as a breather to see if it stops it leaking oil out around the shifter boot but it didn't

    Biggest Yanmar?

Not that i have really trawled through the data bases but i thought about a YM4300 was the biggest until today. I find a YM6000 60hp tractor for sale here in Australia. So there you go, they did really make some big'uns. I think he is dreaming on the price and maybe it's year :rolleyes...

    Calling all GT14 Owners

My YM14 (Euro version of a GT14) has finally spat out the coupling from the engine to the electric PTO. The carrier is worn, bearings seized and burnt and it has fairly well stripped the spline out. The electric clutch still works well. Question is has anyone had theirs to pieces as i need to...

    Out of Curiosity

I was interested in Fuel Prices ATM in the States, particularly Diesel. Unleaded Petrol (Gas....) is $1.45 per litre, Diesel is about $1.35 per litre. As the Yanmars sip on next to nothing they are extremely cheap to run. We also have LPG here (Liquid Petroleum Gas) which is about 60 cents per...

    Leaky Head Gasket.

I fired up the poor old YM14 today for the first time in many months and decided to have a quick look under the lid while it was warming up to discover the coolant leak from the head gasket on the LHS. Fairly significant one too ( about 8 or 9 streams flowing down the block full length). i...
