You Know You Are Old When

Or requires you to either use their ap, or by using one of those weird cellphone barcodes. I suppose if you're only trying to reach millennials/Gen Z'ers, but it doesn't seem to have occurred that many of us over 60 or so neither have nor want smartphones.

    I hate to see this...

Substitute New Hampshire and I could say the same thing. Did a lot of business travel in the 70s & 80s, and discovered a lot of places that did absolutely nothing for me. Rt. 17 from Binghamton to the Pa. line is a very pretty drive. Even though it takes a bit longer than taking the thruway...

You Know You Are Old When

My toenails (especially big toe) are thick and rather brittle. Works best to cut them right after I get out of the shower and they're somewhat soft. Otherwise they kind of splinter into what my wife calls dagger toes.

Tell us something we don’t know.

Well I'm under 80 and I don't really know what Waze is. Then again, I also have a flip phone for the few times I use a cell at all. I do have a Garmin GPS which I use if I'm going on a trip to somewhere I've never been before. It works well. Got one of them too. Actually, I prefer it for...

Do You Have a Tractor Shed/Barn?

I have a couple of those myself for storing smaller equipment like a rider mower, ATV, etc. as well as an antique car plus general stuff you want to keep out of the weather. One thing I learned is to put a sacrificial tarp over it so the fitted cover doesn't deteriorate from UV (even this far...

Long term planning of selling your home?

Agree with most of what you said. I shake my head when I see these articles online about "dated" features in houses, and what you should do to make it more appealing to buyers. Thing is, you won't get most of that money spent back and no guarantee it will make the house easier to sell...

As does my 2019 Acadia. There are controls on the back of the steering wheel to control the stereo, though it's a bit easy to bump the tuning control when making a sharp turn, parallel parking, etc. One odd feature is that occasionally a message will pop up on the screen reminding you to keep...

Tell us something we don’t know.

Not to mention many newer vehicles with a computer monitor-size screen stuck in the middle of the dash like an afterthought. Little to no attempt to integrate it into the dash. Maybe there are people who like that, I'm not one of them. UV not so much an issue up this way, but it does a great...

You Know You Are Old When

Never saw why anyone thought she was hot, way to trashy for my taste.

Tell us something we don’t know.

There've been a lot of pointless automotive fads over the years, from the riced-out Japanese econoboxes in the 90s to the extended shackles in the rear springs of the 60s. And let's not forget "spinner" hubcaps. I suppose all were considered cool at the time, at least in some circles...

What water bottle do you have?

I don't mind it, sure tastes better than that stuff they used to prescribe for a colonoscopy. I tend to sweat a lot so I'll supplement water with the Gatorade. Then again, I'll drink Moxie which is not something that's universally enjoyed. :D

    Need a new(er) truck.... Maybe?

Probably a lot easier to fit in a parking space on campus too. Plus it gets him out of helping friends move. :ROFLMAO:

Don't know what some of you guys are doing to kill a refrigerator in 3-4 years, I've typically gotten 10+ years out of one. Had one I bought in the early 80s that lasted a good many years, but man, was it an electricity hog (and relatively noisy). Agree that the higher efficiency standards...

You Know You Are Old When

Rights have been "trampled on" since the beginning of time, especially if you're considered somehow inferior to the masses. Would you have wanted to be a black man in the south much more than 50 years ago (for one example)? Or most anyone not part of the "master race" in Germany in the first...
