Oil & Fuel  2 part gas to 1 part oil = unhappy 425 owner

Returned from several months absence to my 425 with 36 hrs on. Tried to start 'er up ... no joy. Called Tazwell. Checked my oil level at their suggestion. It was way too high. I had about a gallon of gas diluting the oil. Anyone know why this happened? I've dealt with a lot of engines...

    Removing moss from lawns

Just spent all day using a steel rake to pull up moss so I could reseed grass. In the scope of my yard I didn't get very far but pulled up about 60 cubic feet. Blisters? You bet. Must be an attachment that makes this way quicker with my new PT425. I was wondering if a drag behind chain...

    Took the Plunge

Thanks to the '08 tax stimulus, selling my Kaw Prairie 650 ATV and the 10% off list deal, I finally ordered a PT425 one week ago today. I head down to Tazwell bright and early Tuesday to pick up everything. Upgraded my profile earlier today. Add a new WV owner to your States list. I ran...

The PT425 and the Storm Front

I’ve been thinking about one of my toughest jobs with 7 acres of mostly oak-hickory woods … leaves and zillions of ‘em. Did a search on leaf blowers and PTs and found talk about adapting vacs to mowers, that PT once sold a blower unit, etc. Not exactly what I was looking for. Here’s my idea...

Mowing  Relocating an offset pull mower up front on a 425

Does anyone know the weight of the 48” finish mower or bush cutter? I’m wondering if it might be possible to move my 44”, 375 lb. Swisher mower (Swisher Mower & Machine Co.: T-44 Trailmower) to the front on a 425 by fabricating a mount welded to an attachment plate. Has anyone tried moving an...

    Pressure washer

Spent Monday afternoon @ PT in Tazwell. Tested the 425. In the process I found out that they have a high pressure washer in their mining equipment offerings powered by a hydraulic pump that plugs right up to the PTs. See http://www.hydra-power.com/images/hew4.jpg[/URL].

    Help comparing PT add-ons

I’m a new PT forum reader (… which I find incredibly useful BTW) and a want-to-be PT425 owner. Currently a Gravely Walk Behind (source of the PTOuser idea) and Kawasaki Prairie 650 owner but need more power. Had decided to emulate a neighbor and go the Steiner 430 route sharing attachments but...
