I have a New Holland Compact Tractor model TC35DA Hydrostat. My owner's manual does not give a part number for the Oil Filter. Does anyone know what this part number is, or better, a cross reference to an automotive filter that would be easier to find rather than going to a tractor dealer. Thanks.

I purchased a 2004 New Holland TC35DA HST, with 135 hours. Oil appears to be pretty black. Does a diesel engine's oil get this way quickly, or does this indicate that it was not too well maintained? Also, the ignition lock has some kind of problem where the key will turn even if it is not...
