Loader  Quick connect problem, not due to pressure ,

Took my snow thrower of my BX23 for the season and tried to mount the FEL again. The retractable collar on one of the 4 qc fittings won't snap foward in place when the 2 fittings are mated fully. All The bearings are free and clean. What's the problem? thanks, Larry

    trouble re-hitching backhoe.

Went to re-hitch the hoe on my BX23 and can't close the distance between the hose ends enough to join the ends again. I guess I should have blocked the butt of the hoe up when I removed it. Now its sitting on the floor of the barn with the stabilizers splayed out like a giraffe on the ground. I...

Loader  This one is for Madreferee

Hi, MadReferee, I was wondering if you fabricated those fork/grapple attachment cleats that are on top of the bucket or did you buy them? I sure wold like to purchase 4 of them! I will make 'em if I need to. Got a close up of one? Thanks, Rusty4242

3-Point Hitch  3-point hitch log skidder

Hi, is anyone familiar with this 3-point hitch log skidder from Smallwoodlottools.com? I plan to use it with by BX23 for thinning my woodlot. I've been making do with chains and the drawbar. Nothing too big, stuff up to a foot in diameter. Thanks, Rusty here is the link Small Wood Lot Tools

accidently put stabil for gas in the diesel...

Gents, to make a long story short, I accidently put stabil for gas in 5 gallons of diesel fuel for my BX23 Kubota. Should I dump it ( in an enviromentally proper way, of course) or can I use it? Thanks, Rusty

    Mowing  Brush hog use

Oh, yeah. One more question,(for now).. do you run the brush hog level, or can you tip it up at the front side to help scoop heavy brush under the unit?

Mowing  How much can the MMM take?

Hi, I wonder how much rough stuff the 54 inch mmm for the BX23 can take? I use it for lawn grass but would like to take on the orchard grass, sumac and brambles in the back field without mounting the rotary cutter. With the highest position, full throttle and sharp blades it seems like it...

3-Point Hitch  Can't lift rotary cutter much.

I picked up an older Howse 400 4 foot rotary cutter for my BX23. Fits on ok, but I had to raise the lift arms a lot to hitch onto the pins and the top link is as short as it can go. This only allows me to bring it up about level with the rear wheel, which is fine for cutting but I'd like to be...

    Finished the log splitter!

Thanks to all the help I got on these forums, I have finally finished building my log splitter. Attached are some photos of it. After renting one a couple of times, I decided to build one with an electric motor to keep the fumes and noise down, which it does well, tho the 16 gpm haldex pump...

    Mig worms..

I was using my Millermatic 175 to weld the seams of 18 gallon hydraulic oil tank for the splitter I'm finishing. The seams were smooth and sound until I started seeing short "worm" like formations growing right after I stopped welding. They look like those worms of ash you see from those little...

suction strainer or not for splitter?

Well, finally got the welding together of my splitter done. It's one heavy duty unit. Have to use my bx23 to lower it onto it's subframe. Question is, do I use a suction strainer in the oil tank (from Northern) or not? Some feel that it could lead to pump failure (by cavitation) if it gets...

    metallic coating on steel?

Got a peice of steel plate, 1/2 x 6 x 9, that I preped with my angle grinder prior to welding on this splitter I'm building. . Had sort of a reddish ( red lead?) hard coating over a metallic coating(plating) of a lighter color than the steel underneath . Ground it all off of areas to be welded...

    cracked weld

OK, I finish stick welding a Northern splitter blade to the base plate and a backing plate with 7018 rods.Preped it well, even chamfered the edges, then I noticed one entire weld bead split right down its whole 6 inches. I did tack everything before welding a whole seam. Did it split because I...
