satoh S650G engine changeablility ?
is there another mazda engine that is inter changeable with the 1.0L ? saw where some parts from a 1971 mazda 1200 pickup were interchangeable. saw on craigslist locally a 1.0L rotary engine from a 1977 mazda pickup for sale here....that engine was used several years in the RX series. is there any engines that share the same bolt pattern as on the satoh transmission?

Re: satoh S650G engine changeablility ?
Hey I also have a 650g. I never had much luck with the original engine so I looked for a diesel alternative and found that with a few simple mods and an adaptor plate a Kubota v2203 would be perfect. It is 46 hp and runs my 5 foot blower and 6 foot finish mower awesome.a little overkill but when is too much horsepower ever a problem! If you are interested in seeing some pics let me know. I also have a template of the adaptor plate I made.the complete refit took me about 40 hrs.

I'd be interested in pictures of that project.

Re: satoh S650G engine changeablility ?
Agreed. My IH284 shares the same engine, and it is a source of continuing frustration to me. I've pondered swapping motors for a small diesel, and vacillate between doing the swap or not. I'm curious to know how yours turned out, and how you integrated the engine into the tractor's chassis.

I wonder if you could put a 2350 or 2650 engine in there.
