I am working on a S-370D and all the sudden the clutch pedal does not return (seems to have a return spring missing) and the clutch does not engage even when you manually pull up on the pedal. I can shift into all gears but I can't get the tractor to move under it's own power. I can push the tractor fine in neutral.

The area of the tractor I was working on was the cooling system (radiator and water pump) so I don't think anything I did caused the issue but I have little to no experience on these machines.

Thanks,
Jeff

Was it running when this happened? Any strange noises? How old it the clutch? Only a guess but perhaps the throw out bearing gave up the ghost.

I was having this problem several years ago. There was some rust on the transmission input shaft splines and center of the clutch. Replaced pilot and throw out bearing and put a very light film of never seize on the shaft after cleaning.

Is the pilot bearing behind the fly wheel? Never tried this before, advice is very welcome

The pilot bearing is in the center of the flywheel.
