Recently picked up an MT2501D. It needs some work. I've rebuilt lots of gas engines in my time, but this is my first project with an old diesel tractor.
Found a parts manual for the tractor and FEL, still looking for owner/service manual.
First issue may be easy, or a bit or work. Water escapes under the radiator cap even when the tractor is cold. I'm thinking it may just be a worn out cap, but since it leaks cold water, I suspect a head gasket. I know its a 13LB cap, but not sure how to track down a replacement yet.
Also the kluge of fuel lines leak. Currently it has rubber fuel lines. I thought diesel required a harder line ?
Finally, all the cylinders on the FEL leak a bit, some more than others. It's an MT2501 factory loader, hoping I can get rebuild kits for them.
I expect to spend a good bit of time on the net looking for parts, advice and guidance on this adventure.
Hopefully after this I can be a source for others.
