I was just reading the current issue of Diesel Progress and it had the article that iI have linked below (hope it works), an "I" series and a "U" series. Who is making the tractor imported from India?

Looks like Sonalika for the I-series and LS for the U-series. Since there is only one model from Sonalika, I wonder if they are just testing the market for the Sonalika-sourced tractor and its quality. LS, they've been with since the beginning.

Thanks Kevanos, you are correct on LS but I don't know what the strategy is with Sonalika. Since we have not had them here does anyone know how they stack up against Mahindra in market share in India, the quality reputation vs. Mahindra etc.
I like the Indian manufactured tractors for the most part although right now I am really unimpressed with the Escorts company after their aparent abandonment of the Farmtrac dealers. Maka |
