Just heard from my sister. Her and hubby are looking at tractors around 40 horse, 4wd. The local Montana dealer must have some great deals going on as they seem much more willing to deal than the other guys. BTW Mr. Wallace, I told her to go see you! Anyway, what she was wondering, was would you guys that have a Montana buy one again? What are the issues that you guys that own them see? Parts availability, pricing?
Thanks, Andy.

Mines only a 27 horse 2740, but it's great.
Manual stinks. If the salesman doesn't offer, make him go over the maintenance points and operations of the tractor and implements. I think they have a 36 months at 0 percent going on and some rebates. Mine got off the MSRP pretty quick. Yes I would do it again. Did I say the manual stinks!! Roland |

They have some good rebates and pricing going now on them. My wife was really impressed with them overall. We just bought a 7074 and are waiting for it to be delivered.

Sister is looking at I believe a 43 horse with a cab, 4wd and FEL for under $18,000. Dealer has been dealing them about 18 months. It's a new dealership, didn't handle tractors previously. I thought the price was real good for that size tractor, am just not too sure on Montana as a whole.

The montana's are great and very hard to beat for the money. I just purchased a R 3644 shuttle, which has a 38.5 HP 4 cylinder Mitsubishi motor. This thing is awesome and got it brand new with loader, toothbar , tires filled, and delivered for 15,000. What a deal and it is a very nice tractor. They are made by LG (Korean). It has dual rear remotes, open style platform, nice seat. They have large rebates on some of their tractors that have been on the lots for a while that make them very attractive. I was amazed at how much tractor , I could get for 15,000. All parts seem to be available from the dealers. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I too would not hesitate to buy my tractor or another Montana again. I paid $16,588 for a 4344HST w/FEL. Also got a backhoe, box scrapper, TnT, rock tooth bar at cost. (I checked. For example, the rock tooth bar MSRP at another dealer for $400 I got with my tractor for $275).
I got my rebate to use as the downpayment and 0% financing for the tractor and all the implements. My dealer delivered my tractor and spent 3 or 4 hours going over every aspect of it and the implements with me. We practiced removing and installing the 3PT backhoe and the scrapper, how to operate every lever and control, went over the dealer prep and setup check sheet together, etc. I view my dealer as my partner. I think the warranty is 3 years but he told me as long as he was the Montana dealer, and I was taking my business to him, scheduled maintenance, accessory and implement purchases, etc, then my tractor was under warranty. All repairs are done at my home, I never need to trailer and unless there's a catastrophic failure, I never have to worry that they will come and take my tractor away for weeks on end. They even came out on a Saturday to fix a hydraulic leak on a fitting!!! Wow!! My tractor is everything I hoped it would be and I am ecstatic that my dealer appreciates me as his customer. Good luck with your new Montana. If your sister has e half the positive experience I have, she and her husband are going to be thrilled with their purchase. |
