Does anyone know where you can get a grill guard for a Montana R3644 tractor?
There was an earlier post about getting them from Darrel Good and his group in alabama ( burschell?) , but their supplier no longer makes them so that doesn't work. Any sources any body has would be appreciated. |

Get the ultimate in front end protection with the massive Big Tex Chrome Grill Guard from Go Industries. It's unique design, heavy outside welds and giant size, results in a stylish grille guard that won't bend, flex or vibrate when in use. Most applications feature easy, no drill, frame mount installation. This grille guard is constructed of one piece tubular frame using massive 1.9", 14 gauge steel. Each application features light tabs for installing auxiliary lighting and heavy duty rubber push pads. Six year warranty on chrome. Not UPS-able.

Just contact your dealer I got one for my tractor 4340C a few months ago. I just havent got around to putting it on yet. I actually thought about doing it this week. The only modification that I would like to make but cant find is getting some expanded steel mesh to line the back side of it for more of a brush gaurd also.
I will post picks as soon as I get it on.

When I checked on the guard for the 2740 my local dealer said the cost was about $250.

i got mine at dealer cost becuase he had never sold one before and wanted to see what one looked like. I think $250 would be about right with shipping costs and everything.

I finally put my grill guard on and don't really like it. It is going to get some future modification.
Reasons I don't like it: - Not tall enough - Sticks out to far(not enough to hit anything just doesn't look right) - Just doesn't seam like it will provide enough protection as I would like Modifications: - Cut it in half and make it hinge and angle it in toward the grill(must be hinged to allow hood to open. - Extend top half of guard to make it longer to provide more protection to hood and grill - Weld metal mesh to the inside of grill guard as to provide more protection from brush and snow. - Possibly make winged sides on it to provide wrap around protection (if there is enough space) If I had to do it over again I would have just made it myself but did not know what it looked like from the factory. I like the ones on the new compact John Deeres. Don't know how hard it would be to modify one to make it fit our tractors. Don't think I would want to know the price either. Hope this helps people that would like one or to give a guide to build one.
