Ford 4000su steering issue

if i was you i would buy a service manual on a 3000 ford since that is what you have since it has a engine mounted hyd. pump and a sims injection pump no 4000 ever had a sims injection pump because the timing for a sims pump is different than the timing of a cav pump that a 4000 would have had

Another quick question I know I can time a diesel on the exhaust side and have it 180 and it's easy to do how would you know by just looking at it

Both valves are closed on TDC of the compression stroke.
The exhaust stroke TDC would have the exhaust valve open.

If the #1 rockers are both loose and the flywheel is on 0 degrees -/+, then yes, it is on TDC. Can't really tell from the pictures.

Yeah both seem to have some play the head is not torqued down yet it's just snugged but basically both valves should b closed right

Yes. Aren't your timing marks on the gears lined up AND the flywheel on 0 degrees? If that is the case, then checking that the valves are both closed on #1 just verifies that.

Yes now the flywheel I haven't checked I hope I don't have seperate it again and turn the flywheel some mote

So when at TDC the flywheel should read 0 and when u time the injection pump it'll read 19 right if so that's so simple

Yes. If you never unbolted the pump, then putting the flywheel on 19 isn't going to do much for you.
